Digitalisation into the future

  • Events

iDODDLE PI, Charlie Wilson, travelled up to Leeds to present two papers at the Scenarios Forum, the triennial gathering of scientists working with scenarios and models of global climate futures. Charlie presented work led by Yee Van on digital transformation in global socioeconomic development pathways that shows a widening digital divide compounding other inequalities to 2050 under certain assumptions. He also presented work led by Hazel Pettifor and Maureen Agnew using calibrated statistical models to project low-carbon lifestyles into the future with digitalisation as well as education and urbanisation as key enablers. These streams of work exploit synergies between the iDODDLE, CircEUlar, and PRISMA projects to better capture the effect of digitalisation in climate futures.
