Poornima Kumar contributed to a recent multiauthor paper published in Energy Research & Social Science, through the EDITS network. The research explores scenarios for achieving low energy demand while ensuring decent living standards (DLS), with a focus on the residential sector in India.

The study examines four key dimensions of DLS: sufficient space and durable housing, thermal comfort, access to basic appliances, and clean cooking. This research underscores the imperativeness of reconciling energy demand reduction with wellbeing improvement goals through effective policy measures.
