Digital Detectives at the Festival of Social Science

  • Events

The team became Digital Detectives for a day for the Festival of Social Science at the Pitt Rivers Museum on Friday, 1 November 2024. Throughout the day, the old-school detectives engaged young children and families to explore how digital applications have replaced the way we do things in our daily life. The children got their hands on portable CD players, cassette tapes, and landline phones. The visitors then learned about the energy impacts of digital replacements.

The Festival of Social Science was organised by the University of Oxford’s Social Science Division supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Read about the highlights from the festival here.
