Digitalisation as part of potential social tipping dynamics for accelerated decarbonisation

Charlie Wilson presented a paper at the mammoth EGU conference in Vienna as part of a fascinating session on planetary boundaries, tipping points, and earth system dynamics. The EGU attracts over 15,000 scientists, mainly from the climate and earth science communities … so a talk on social and economic processes was an outlier, but generally well received! Charlie spoke about how interconnections between energy, finance, social, urban, and educational systems create opportunities for interventions in one system to create cascading effects across systems.
