iDODDLE Goes to Bern: Reflections on Digitalisation, Time-use and Energy Use

  • News

Dr Emilie Vrain recently gave a guest seminar at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), hosted by Prof. Jan Bieser. Emilie shared insights from the iDODDLE Living Lab and findings from household automation trials (slides provided here). The hybrid event was well attended, with lively discussion encouraged throughout and even a ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ style quiz. Emilie presented evidence on how digital automation in the home influences patterns of time-use and energy demand, drawing on the longitudinal data from the living lab households. The visit provided an opportunity to develop future collaborations with researchers at BFH on digitalisation and sustainability.
