From Acceptance Drivers to Rebound: International Sustainability Transitions Conference 2025

  • News

This year marked the 16th annual conference of the Sustainability Transitions Research Network. The theme of the International Sustainability Transitions conference, held in Lisbon, Portugal, was tensions and trade-offs in structural changes for sustainability transitions.

Poornima Kumar presented her research in an oral presentation titled “Digitalisation in daily life: from acceptance drivers to rebound”. Her talk covered three aspects of the integration of digital technologies and services into daily life: 1. the ways in which the societal, technological, and individual factors determining our acceptance of digital technologies interact; 2. how this interaction shapes continued use; 3. the various outcomes of continued use, including rebound mechanisms.

She was a recipient of the EDITS Paper Award at the conference. Access her presentation slides here.
