As part of his visiting research stay at the Transport and Mobility Laboratory (TRANS-OR) at EPFL, DPhil student Marcel Seger was given the opportunity to present his preliminary research plans for his third paper to the entire research group in early April. Before diving into the topic of discrete choice modelling for assessing EV users’ propensities to adopt smart charging strategies, Marcel outlined his prior studies on EV workplace charging, one of which having recently been published in npj sustainable mobility and transport.
Marcel’s talk triggered thought-provoking discussions concerning the general research design of his third paper and the specific attributes to be implemented as part of his discrete choice experiment (DCE). Going forward, Marcel will incorporate these insights into a first version of the DCE, to be tested with a small sample of survey respondents (‘soft launch’) in due course.
